The Mt. Albert Ratepayers’ Association last night discussed the action of the Borough Council in rejecting a tender for concreting Mt. Albert Road when it was £570 lower than that of Messrs Bray and Co. A resolution was passed protesting against this action. It has been decided to put an additional run on the Sunday evening ferry service to Birkenhead and Northcote. The extra boat will leave Birkenhead at 10.30 p.m., Northcote 10.35 p.m. and reach Auckland at 11 p.m.
