AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY
CALL FROM DEVONPORT At a special meeting of the Auckland Presbytery, held last evening, it was decided to sustain a call from the Devonport Presbyterian Church to the Rev. W. L. Marsh. The call, which was signed by* 136 out of 240 members, was presented by the Rev. E. R. Harries, who said that, including these members, 46 adherents had signed requesting Mr. Marsh to accept the call. Mr. J. S. Fairgray and Mr. G. Falla, as commissioners, were present to support the call. The minister’s stipend would be £ 450 per annum. Arrangements for the induction were left over pending Mr. Marsh’s acceptance. Most of Mr. Marsh’s clerical experience has been gained in South Africa, where he was minister at Grahamstown for some time. He has also seen experience as a chaplain in the Imperial Army during the Great War.
