North Auckland dairy factories, in common with those in other parts of the Dominion, have been badly hit by the butter slump in the Old Country. However, the phenomenal season experienced by farmers generally has to some extent compensated for the fall in price, and Whangarei, of the six North Auckland factories quoted below, is the only one to show a decrease, on February’s pay-out. The fall of £3OO is insignificant when it is considered that in 192»> the pay-out was reckoned on Is 4d a pound, and last month on 3d a pound From June to November, 1926, the Northern Wairoa Company paid out £43,777 15s 5d more than for the corresponding period the previous year.
