FIRST PICTURE THEATRE PROVISION FOR CABARET Re:3iuera’s own picture theatre and cabaret should be opened about November. Work has already started on the foundations for a modern building on a site opposite the post office. The total cost of the enterprise is said to be £ 25,000. Comfort and artistic effect have been considered in the design of the Picture theatre. All the seats will be an inch wider than the usual 18 inches and the theatre will hold about 1,000. Beneath the circle proper will be eight logias, to hold six people each and having a separate foyer. Projection of the pictures will be made from the ground floor, a new idea, to avoid distortion of the image on the screen The cabaret floor will be over the shop frontage and it will be complete with electric kitchen. The building is to be constructed of ferro-concrete with brick panelling end there has been provision for plenty of ventilation. The stage of the theatre is to b e large enough for theatrical performances and dressing foorn accommodation will be adjacent.
