Sir. —Why were the prisoners Tuato ami Lnatua, who were convicted in tile Municipal Court ou the 17th. instant, of of an assault on a travelling party from Aana, and who appealed against the decison of the Court, -liberated, contrary to usual custom, while their appeal wits pending, and why has the result of the appeal not Been made known ? The men who wore convicted of the assault on Bolomona on Monday last, also appealed against the decision of our local Court, yet, nevertheless, and rightly to, they have licen imprisoned.
