Ship - masters from Melbourne and other Southern ports report to me the existence of a newly - discovered reef ninety miles due south from this Island. Reef a-wash, and from an eighth to a quarter of a mile in length. I send you the information for the benefit of ship-masters whose course may lead thorn in the vicinity named. I am, Vic, H. \V.
