Mr. STERLING. —The friends of this gentleman will ho glad to learn that through the skilful treatment and unremitting attentiou of Dr. Nash, of tho U. S.S. Lackawanna, and the Rev. Geo. A. Turner, M.D., ho has so far recovered from the effects of the brutal treatment he recently received, as to be able to take a short stroll and sit for a few hours each day upon tho verandah. Ho is very cheerful spirited, his appetite is good, and he is altogether in a very fair way of a speedy recovery.
