Divine Service. —To-morrow being the first Sunday in the month, the Rev. Geo. A. Turner, M.D., will (n.v.} hold divine service, in the Foreign Church, Apia, at 7'30 p.m.

The U. S. Cossul.—We understand that tho United States Consul, T. M. Dawson, Esq., has been granted a leave of absence by his Government, to visit the United States whenever his official duties will permit him to do so.

Mr. STERLING. —The friends of this gentleman will ho glad to learn that through the skilful treatment and unremitting attentiou of Dr. Nash, of tho U. S.S. Lackawanna, and the Rev. Geo. A. Turner, M.D., ho has so far recovered from the effects of the brutal treatment he recently received, as to be able to take a short stroll and sit for a few hours each day upon tho verandah. Ho is very cheerful spirited, his appetite is good, and he is altogether in a very fair way of a speedy recovery.

' The War.—During the past week there have been a considerable number of reports brought into town concerning the progress of the war, but as we have been unable to obtain any reliable information, we have to content ourselves by simply stating that both parties have been 'firing at one another more ov less during the past week. The old Government party, we are informed, have built twifforts upon the neutral territory.
