Sm, —I have read the misstatement ! mentioning my name iu the newspaper of the Kith of this month. 1 now inform you truthfully I never made such a false statement as this in the presence of the Taiimia and Faipule; Leituala it was who stated the facts of our trip to Apia, and ho made no untrue assertions iu his statement. I also have made no such untruthful statements as appeared iu the paper mentioned above.
