A THIRTY YEARS' RECORD OF ATTEMPTS ON THE LIVES OF RULERS.

IS-tK—November 20.—Tho life of the Duke of was attempted.

ISW—June 21.—The Crown Prince of Prussia was attacked at iliuden.

1851 —May 22.—Sefeloque, a workman, shot at Frederick William IV., King of Prussia, and hroko his forearm.

1851—June 28. —Robert Pate, an •ex-lieutenant in the army, attempted to assassinate Queen Victoria.

1852—September 24.—An infernal ■machine was found at Marseilles with which it had been intended to destroy Napoleon 111. 1853 —February 18.—The Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria was grievously wounded in the head while walking on the ramparts at Vienna, by a Hungarian tailor named Libzens. 1853—April IG.—An attempt on the life of Victor Emmanuel was reported to the Italian Chamber.

1853 —July s—An attempt was made to kill Napoleon 111. as he was entering the Opera Oomique.

1854—March 20. —Ferdinand Charles 111., Duke of Banna, was killed by an unknown man, who stabbed him in the abdomen.

1855—April 28.—N n P°l eon ni. was fired at in tho Champs Ely sees by Giovanni Piancri.

1850—April 28. —Raymond Fuentes was arrested in the act of tiring on Isabella, Queen of .Spain. 1850—December B.—Angesilas Milauo, a soldier, stabbed Ferdinand 111., of Naples, with his bayonet. 1857 —August 7. —Napoleon 111 again. Bartoletti, # Gibaldi, and Grille were sentenced to death for coming from London to assassinate him.

1858—January 14.—Napoleon 111 for the fifth time. Orsini and his associates threw fulminating bombs at him as he was on his way to the opera. 1801—July 14.—Ku-g 'William of Prussia was for the first tune shot at by •Oscar Becker, a student at Baden-Baden Becker fired twice at him, but missed him. 18C2 December 18. A student named Possios tired a pistol at Queen Amalia of Greece (Princess of Odenbcrg) at Athens. 1863 December 24. Four more conspirators from Loudon against the life of Napoleon 111. were arrested at Paris.

ISoo—April 0. A Russian named Kavarasoff attempted Czar Alexander's life at St Petersburg. He was foiled by * peasant, who was ennobled for the deed.

1807.—The Czar's life was again attempted during the great Exposition at a review iu the Boise de Boulogne at Paris. 1808.—June 10.—Princo Michael of Servia was killed by the brothers lladwaro witch. 1871.—Tho life of Amadeus, then newly King of Spain, was attempted. 1872 August. Colonel tiutieriez .assassinated President Ualta of tho Republic of Peru.

1873.—January I.—President Morales of Bolivia was assassinated.

1875 August. President Garcia Maronp of Ecudator vu assassinated. 1877—June.—President Gill of Paraguay wts assassinated by Commander Moles.

1878.—May 11.—The Emperor William of Germany was shot at again, this time by Kmile Henri Max Hoedel, alias Lchmann, the Socialist. Lehmann, it ■will be remembered, fired three shots at the Emperor, who was returning from a drive with the Grand Dutchess of Baden, but missed him. June 2.— A third attempt was made on the life of the Emperor William by Dr. Nobiling. October 20.—Juan Oliva shot at king Alfonso at Madrid. November.—l 7 King Humbert of Italy attacked by Passanante with a dagger at Naples. December 12.—Arrest of a Frenchman in London for threats against Queen Victoria. December 23.—Threats aguinst the life of the King of Denmark; seizure of bombs at Copenhagen.
