DR. L. hj. BMI TH , (the only legally-qualified medical man advertising) On all affection! of the Nervous System (no matter tram what i;auno arising). Ou all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from curly indiscretion*. On Grout, On Itheumatism. In rhese colonies, those excesses which wo have indulged in " hot youth" tell upon ua with fearful interest. Our regreta are useless, our repinings f...:i„ Ti lo 9 ,,1,, ifoa should he the chances soss of remedying the ills we already bating the effects likely to it as he may, put on as good an exterior as ho can, still is the victim , onscious that ho is a living lie, and tha* sooner or luter his vices will discover him 'o the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at largo, the welfare of our future offspring, and the duty wo owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negooioting with a merchant, before engaging with a commercial clerk ; boforo employing a barrister, a carefnl man makes enquiries as to their standing, their ength of occupancy or residence; and, in he case of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults upon. Strange to say, however, iu tho selection of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necessary precaution* and without regard to tho fitness, qualification, experience andability for the particular uilment requiring treatment, he consults tho nearest man, whose experience and practice, perhajis, lies in quite an opposite direction. It is astonishing that so many are driven mad, are ruined in health, und are bankrupt iu spirits, hope and money ? Have ( not for years pointed out to them that "I, l>r. L. L. .Smith, am the only legally qualified medical man advertising in the colonies ? " Have I not also prosecuted, a my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed tho various nostriums they are selling,—such us Phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &e. —ami had thorn analysed ami found them to consist of " Burnt sugar and flavoring matter," and the certificates i have fuovkd to be all forgeries. It is for this reason that I step out of tho ethics of the profession and advertise' to give those who requiro the services of my branch ai opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified man, and one, moreover, who has made this his study.
