The canoe is 18 feet, long, built of oak with a cedar deck. She is fitted with a pair of outriggers, fine rowing sculls, paddles, mast, sail, and anchor. She hits also a sliding scat which may be brought into use for racing purposes, in accordance with the latest improvements in Colonial and European rowing crafts. 2nd Prize, for the lowest thrower, —A very handsome and faithful picture of Apia and Matafele, as viewed from Apia anchorage, by our young and rising local artist, Mr. Mcllhemiy, whose pictures were so much admired at the Baffle of Christmas Eve last. Several art connoisseurs pronounce this as Mr. Mcilhenny's best production. 3rd Prize, for the main between the highest and lowest, —A splendid Japanese work-box, a very handsome present to a lady, and one of those articles of vertue which is at once Useful as well as highly ornamental. 4th Prize, for the second highest, sth Prize, for the second lowest, Two useful and ornamental articles, of the value of $5.
