WILLIAM THE GOOD.
Whatever disturbances of Internationalists, Nihilists, or Communists of Germany may have been able to create in Germany, they do not appear to nave undermined the Emperor William's popularity. Yesterday he returned with the Empress to Berlin, amid the grandest exhibition of love and patriotic sentiment possible. The attempt of Ilocdel, and the wounds indicted by Xobeling, apparently have served chiefly to show how much the people of Berlin and of Germany venerate him. lie deserves all their love, llislit'e has been spent in their service, risked time and again in youth and in age on the battle-field ; and lie has not, with a sordid and selfish spirit, squandered, or horded millions of their wealth, without having given any equivalent, lie returns now to resume the Government, temporarily resigned during his disability from the effects of Nobcling's shots.—Alta California December 0.
