• I The annual meeting of the Apia Ci metery Committee was Ueld on Wednesday oveniug last, Mr. W. E Agar, in tho chair. After the usual preliminaries had boon mm.' through, the secretary and treasurer, Sir. H. Dreyer, handed iu the following report, which was adopted:— Since the appointment of tho committee. a good deal of work has been done to tho cemetery. All the Uvea have been out down, the stumps burned down; the whole place has been weeded at several times, and buffalo grass planted, which is growing well. Tho ground has also been enclosed with a substantial fence; the road to the cemetery has Icon made broader than formerly,and a good strong bridge has been placed across the swamp. But for all tbeso works more time has beeu used than anticipated on account of the slow working of the natives, togothor with (lie ditficultv experienced in getting them to work at all, so that the laying out of blocks and forming cross-roads iu the cemetery have not ycl been commenced. There have b.;en five burials duriug the past year.
