TRUST.
Tlk* sky is clouded, the rocks arc hare, l ie* spray of tic* tempest is white in air, 'l ie* winds are nut with iln* waves at •lay. And I shall not tempt the sea to-day. Tiie trail is naimw. llic wood is dim, The serpent curls round the arching limb, And tic* lions’ whelps are abroad at play, I shall not join in the chase to-day. The ship sailed safely over the sea, The hunter came from the chase in glee, The town that was huilded on a rock, Was .swallowed up in an earthquake shock. Safe to trust to the sea in its will, Safe to trust the beasts held vile, Safe to trust, with their faults, to men, Place no trust in quakes nor women.
