Swnnston, lisq., Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday lust, the 22nd inst. The charge of drunkenness and riotous conduct and wilfully damaging property was fully Ikiiw mit by tlio evidence. The Dqmty Cotsmissioner, after warning the prisoner that a repetition of the oti'enco would liring upon him very sevore punishment, fined him *23, and in default of payment two weeks imprisonment. Complainant's <osts were made payable out nf the line, u week being given in which to pay the fine, and we understand that the greater part has already boon paid. Mr. HothcrIBgtnn appeared to prosecute. Vjsitobs.— Among the number of Grange faces that one meets just now, we are glad to recognise those of Mr. ('. L Sahl. Gonsnl-General for Ocrmauy, and Air. \V. Flennings. IV former gentleman resides for the must part in New South Wales, but has mode, rrotpiunl visits lo Fiji, and has always .shown a lively interest in the development of the South Kea Islands.
