Tho Matafele was a smart new schooner of some seventeen tons, but recently built to tho order of Die IVtorei von J. 0. Godeffroy and Sohn, of this town. She was on her maiden island trip at the time of the mishap. Tho schooner Vavau arrived on iiondav afternoon last, from a cruise. She brings a fair cargo of island produce, aud is last from Savage Island, which she left on the 13th inst. The barque Caroline Bhen. which arrived iero last week from Capetown, left again for Valparaiso on Thursday morning last. Tho barque Eeconniasance took her departure from Sydney for this port, via the Friendly Islands, on tho 12th of last month, bo we may look for her to arrive here during the next woek.
