Tho schooner Olosegn, having hod her ■dainagos repaired, made another start for Now Britoin, ou Sunday morning lust. A frosh trade wind was blowing, aud there was every appearance of her making a quick run. On Tuesday morning last, the brigantine Mutautu put in an appearance, utter a thirty-ono day's passage from Sydnoy. She brings u full cargo of general merchandise. Tho brigantine Bynn arrived in harbour, from a trading cruiso among the various groups of islands, on Tuesday afternoon last. Captain Uower reports leaving Suworrow ou tho sth January, for a cruiso amongst the neighbouring 'islands, thence to the Tokelau Group, arriving at tho latter on Ist of March, While in tlm Tokelau Group experienced a succession of strong westerly and NW winds, witli high sea and frequent squalls, and much rain, which mado sad havoc amongst the vessel's canvas. Captain Bower states that when off Tokelau ho found a strong current setting to the eastward at the rate of two miles per hour. Tho Ryiio left Tokelau on the 11th of April, had fine ESK weather and no current whatever, and arrived in port as above stuted She has a full cargo of island produce, and will leave for Auckland this moruing. On Sunday morning last information was received in town of the total loss of the sehoonor Matafele, at Manua. From what we can learn tho vessel was king at anchor at Manua when a strong westerly wind set in, and a heavy sea rolling in iu consequence, causing tho vessel to drug her anchors and drivo on shore, where she beeumo a total WTeck. Tho Matafele was a smart new schooner of some seventeen tons, but recently built to tho order of Die IVtorei von J. 0. Godeffroy and Sohn, of this town. She was on her maiden island trip at the time of the mishap. Tho schooner Vavau arrived on iiondav afternoon last, from a cruise. She brings a fair cargo of island produce, aud is last from Savage Island, which she left on the 13th inst. The barque Caroline Bhen. which arrived iero last week from Capetown, left again for Valparaiso on Thursday morning last. Tho barque Eeconniasance took her departure from Sydney for this port, via the Friendly Islands, on tho 12th of last month, bo we may look for her to arrive here during the next woek.
