Moors, against the mast- r and owners of the American schooner Challenr'-r, for the difference between the market value of goods damaged on board the vessel, while en-her way bore from 'Prison, and the price realised st auction, has I occupied the attention of tho American Yite-Cnutul. and Messrs. Parker nnd Hamilton, associates, for a considor- • able time this week. Mr. Carrnthan appeared for Moors, and-Mr. Skean for tho defendants. The defence woe thst the goods were damaged through stress of weather, and that tha captain, under bis hill of lading, wss therefore not liable; and further that Moors had taken delivery sad had afterwards sold the goods by auction, which suction the defendants declared was without their concurrence, and not properly conducted, k great deal of evideaoe wss taken. Messrs. Moors.
