CONTROL OF "THE TRADE." STATE OWNERSHIP SUCCEEDS. Press Association—Copyright, Austra lian and N.Z. Cable .Association (Received 8.55 a.m.) London, December 29. Tho Daily Chronicle warns the publie that they may expect fresh proposals to regulate the liquor traffic even to the extent of its purchase by the State, which the Government- is considering. The Chronicle says that liquor-control, in tho Boards' experience, proved conclusively the desirability and the effectiveness of the existing restrictions by the Boards. Tho trial of State ownership at Carlisle was a notable success. . .
