TARANAKI CHRISTMAS MEETING. Favoured with magnificent weather and what was probably a record attendance for the New Plymouth Racecourse at any previous meeting the Tai'anaki Jockey Club's gathering could not fail to be a success. Racing was good and speculation was brisk throughout the day. the sum of £19,747 being passed through the totalisator, as against £18,1)03 the same day last year. To Mr E. P. Webster (the secretary) and all the officials the greatest credit is due, no hitch of any sort occurring.
