WHANGAMOMONA.

The Whangamomona Public School annual concert was held in the local Hall on Tuesday evening and was well attended. The following programme was submitted; Prologue, Master H. Hodder; action song, “My Aunt Jerusha’s Gat,” infants; illustrated recitation, “The Struggle,” Miss Thora Bovis; song, “Whistle It,” seniors; cornet Mr A. F. Sharpe; recitation, “The New Baby,” Master H. Nome; song, “The Land of Nod,” infants; recitation, “Our Guide in Italy,” Miss Rachel Moore; duet, “Dear- Little Jammy Face,” Miss L Gill and Master H- Nome; recitation, M Matt; songs, Mr Fawkner and Miss McGuire; dialogue, “Mrs o'Bnen« Laundry,” Masters H Hoddei B. Sharpe, Coulthard, and J. c near. In the absence of Mr H. W. Bovis* (Chairman of Committee), Mr \ H Nome presided. Tlie meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. „ During the evening Miss McMeekin, assistant teacher, in view ot her approaching marriage, was the recipient of a handsome teapot and bowl of Doulton china from the scholars of the school. Miss McMeekin also received an antique valse and hot water jug from the'* ladies of the district. This presentation was made at a nartv held at the residence of Mr an Mrs 3 IT. W. Bovis on Wednesday afternoon. . , On the same day a quiet wedding took place at the residence of the bride’s parents, Hunmoana, when Mr J Davison, of Hinds, was married to Miss L. Brown •daughter^ Mr Thos. Brown. Mr A. H- ; * Presbyterian Missionary, officiated.
