A touching little ceremony occurred at headquarters, when General doff re i'arewelled his command, and introduced General Nivelle and staff. General Nivelle paid a glowing appreciation to the victor of tiie -Marne. General Jo tiro then returned to Fans intake up his duties as generalissimo. FRENCH ACTIVITY REPORTED. (Received 11.55 a.m.) London, December 19. A French communique states: The enemy bombarded the region of Lou vemout-Chanbrettes. Our air squadrons bombed the railway stations at Dun-sur-Meui, Montmedy, Rivouacs. and Azannes.
