NEWTON KING’S REPORT. On Wednesday, Oth inst., at inglewood, for my fortnightly sale, there was a heavy yarding of cattle, all pens and races being well fill-d. buyers were present in good numbers and made brisk competition, the lest proportion of the yarding being cleared. Prices were :—Best springing heifers £9 10s to £l2, good £7 17s fid to £9. small £6 7s fid to £7, dairy cows £8 17s fid to £l2 store cows £8 7s fid to £lO ss, forward cows £ll to £l2 lbs fid, forward conditioned heifers up to £l2 15s, 15-month steers £8 9a to £9 9s small steers £6 19s to £/ 12s fid, 15-month heifers £fi 15s to £7 15s, 2year empty heifers up to £9 3s fid, bulls £G 15a to £lO, yearling heifers £5 8s fid to £6.
On Thursday, 7th inst., at Ohura. for my second sale, there was n vny full yarding of good cattle. Buyers were in strong force, a very satisfactory sale resulting. The bullocks were good, and were keenly sought after. 'Forward bullocks made £l6 Is to £l4 (los fid, 3-year bullocks £l4 7s fid, £l3 19s, 21-year steers £ll to £l2 18s, tat 2-1-year steers £l4 17s fid, 15-18-mon-ths steers (good) £9 2s to £9 15s, small £5 15s, 2-year heifers £9 2s, fat cows £l3 15s to £l4 2s fill, store cows >£B 7s to £ll 17s store wethers 31s |lod to 32s fid, dry ewes 29s to 31s fid, woolly wether hoggets 10s to 44s fid.
At Rahotu on Friday Bth, there was fair entry which sold well, as fol-lows:—15-month steers £7 15s, small '£6 2s fid to £6 15s, 15-month heifers £6 15s to £7 2s, smaller heifers £6 Is to £fi ss, bulls £8 to £l3, springing heifers £9 2s fid to £lO ss, dairy cows £ls 10s, fat cows £l4 to £ls, forward cows £lO 2s to £ll 18s, store cows £7 19s fid to £9 12s fid, empty 2-year heifers £8 18s 6d, cows and carves £l2 [Bs, dairy cows (good) £ls 10s.
At Urenui on Monday, 11th inst., there was a good entry. Prices throughout were a shade -easier, but most of the yarding changed hands. Prices werels-month steers (mostly small) £7 16s, 15-month heifers £5 9s to £6 14s, empty 2-year heifers £8 13s, fat cows up to £l6, prime fab heifers £ls, hulls £5 15s to £l4, store cows £9 5s to £lO 15s, 21-year steers rough £9 12s ( to £lO 6s, springing heifers £7 7s fid to £lO.
At Stony Iliveij on Tuesday 12th, I there was a full ejjfcry of good cattle. I There was a large attendance of buylers and a very satisfactory sale resulted. Best 15-18-month steers made £8 10s 6d to £8 13s, smaller steers £7 10s to £7 18s 6d, 15-month heifers £5 j7s 6d to £6 15s, empty 2-year heifers £8 13s to £8 17s, bulls £9 17s 6d to £lO 15s, 2-year steers £9 16s, fat cows £l3 15s, store and forward cows £8 10s to £lO 18s, mixed weariers £3 3s. 1 !
At Kohnratahi on Wednesday, cartie came forward in excess of advertised numbers.
