STRATFORD RACIE'JG CLUB. The committee* of tin* Stint lon Racing Club met last evening when the following were present: —Messrs W. H-. H. Young (chairman), J. 1L L. Stanford, F. Mackay, S. I’itt, A, E. Copping, W. Morrison, A. Stewart, and H. E. Abraham. Mr AY. P Kirkwood scut an apology for ah scnce. Mr Piper’s resignation as a member of the Club was accepted with regret. it was decided that the hire Brigade he asked for tho services-of two firemen in uniform for the races. it was resolved that the Borough Council Ik* written to drawing its attention to the had state of Cordelia Street, Pembroke Road, and Regan Street, and asking that these places he attended to in view of the forthcoming meeting ft was resolved that soldiers in uniform he admitted free to the races. The Committee approved of the action of the Patriotic Committee in arranging to hold a hand concert on the Stratford Show Grounds on Sunday, December 31st. Horse owners are reminded tluu acceptances for the first day’s event; and entries for Borough Stakes Farmers’ Plate, and Cardiff Stakes will close with the secretary to-mor-row (Wednesday) at 9 pan.
