Cable Association (Received 11.30 a.m.) /Loudon, December 17, With a view to accelerating tn.v output of merchant vessels, the Clyde shipbuilders’ federation j memoralised Mr "Lloyd George, urging the, immediate total prohibition of the sale ol all alcoholic liquors throughout the kingdom, the regulation to he applied to all classes of individuals alike. r J hey added that a meeting of Clyde and West of Scotland shipbuilders and marine engineers unanimously considered that the Nation should be required to submit to this sacrifice, while as shipbuilders and engineers, the meeting were chiefly concerned with the beneficial effect the step would have on the output nt merchant tonnage.
