MESSAGE FROM THE SEA.

FROM NFW ZEALAND SOLDIERS. WASHED UP ON WATERHOUSE BEACH. We (North Eastern Advertiser, Tasmania, have received a particularly interesting sheet of letter paper, containing the signatures and addresses of l!) Divisional Signallers of the 14th N.Z. Reinforcements, with a memo at the foot, “At sea in • Australian Bight, July Ist, 191,6. Weather fair.” The bottle enclosing the sheet of paper has therefore had a remarkable journey of hundreds of miles before it was picked up by Mr Poole at Waterhouse, on the North East Coast of Tasmania on November 17th, over 4months after it was thrown overboard.

It will interest the relatives and friends of the New Zealand soldiers, as well as the men themselves, to learn that their message has been found, and may we hope that they will share the same good luck, and come through safely in the end. At-

tached is a copy of the note: — Divisional Signallers, 14th New Zealand Reinforcements. Q. T. Lawrence. Stratford. A. 0. Martin, '897 Durham Street, Christchurch. H. K.
