The deceased was a former conductor of the Halle Orchestra, Manchester, and conducted the Bayreuth festivals since 187(5, the Birminghiam festivals fom 1885-1909, and the Wagner performances at Covent Garth"!, London, since 1905. “By common consent the greatest of all conductors” said ‘‘The Times.”
