Considerable difficulty is being experienced by the Wellington Fire Brigade in obtaining permanent firemen to fill the vacancies caused by a large number of enlistments. The Patriotic Concert on behalf of the Stratford Wounded Soldiers' Fund will be held in the Town Hall, to-mor-row evening. Every seat is likely to be taken, an excellent programme having been arranged.'
A Press Association telegram from Wellington slates: Another increase of ten shillings per ton in flour is announced, and it is now quoted at £lo per ton. The price in the local flour market lias' advanced £2 10s per ton since early in November, Auckland and Tiinaru operators having been buying here at high prices. Horse, gig and harness for sale.
