Admiral von Tirpitz has sent a message to the German Navy League to the effect that unless Germany roadies a position of equality with Britain after the war, Germany will pine away.
THE FOOD DIFFICULTIES.

Baron von Zedlitz, writing to the Berlin Post, and defending the Chancellor in connection with food difficulties, makes the admission that the Chancellor, as early as 1911, requested the Minister of the Interior to begin an economic preparation for war, but adds that it was only in 1913 that we began the full development of our land and sea forces, which was too late to have full effect at the outbreak of the war.
