butter-box factory burnt. Por Press Association. Auckland, December 1. A serious lire broke out this evening in a three-storey luitter-box lac* tory occupied by Hagnall Pros, and Co., Freeman’s Hay. The men had just been paid for the week, and the engineer had just concluded an inspection of the building, when smoke was seen coming apparently Irom the centre of the building.. The lire was not extinguished until alter live hours’ work on the part of the brigades. The machinery is valued at £3OOO, and the building at £2OOO, and until an inspection is possible the exact amount of damage is unascertainable. The origin of the the is unknown.
