Allen, in the coarse of n statement, said he wished to make it perfectly clear that in the case of any miner who was drawn in the ballot, not only had he the right of appeal to the Military Service Hoard, but also his c-inp’oyor. The Minister said he was very anxious indeed that coal miners should be retained in the industry, because this was of very great importance to Now Zetland. In order to assist them in their appeals to Boards, regulations had been published in a Gazette of October 2 in which the Minister of Munitions could send a certificate to the Board and the man would lie granted exemption. .
