The Coal Strike Tribunal has been clothed with full powers to settle the dispute and fix the price of coal, if necessary. The first sitting was occupied with the preliminaries, and adjourned till to-morrow. Seventeen convictions were registered to-day under the Lighting Act, and fines were inflicted. Wellington, November 29. j In connection with the coal miners', strike in Australia, a conference is to be held in Wellington to-night between tho'Hkxns. Allen and MacDonald and representatives of" the coal mine, owners, New Zealand Miners' Fodera-, bion, shipping companies and Water-! ido Workers' Federation, in reference to the shipment of coal for Australia. It is not anticipated there will be any trouble regarding coal for New Zealand transports, but tho miners will have to bo perfectly [satisfied it is for that purpose ohly. | lit is understood the miners will absolutely refuse to allow any other (coal to be shipped to Australia, or 'anything being done likely to jeopardise the position of the miners on., strike there..
