STRATFORD RACING CLUB. A meeting of the Stratford Racing Club was held'' last evening,' when there were present: Messrs V . JMorison (chairman)*,? J. R. L. Stanford, A. Stewart, S. Pitt, F. Mackay and H. E. Abraham. The matter of ; the sale of the privileges of the booths was left in the hands of Messrs Abraham and Stanford, Mr Newton King being instructed to offer the same for sale by auction on Saturday, 9th December. Mr J. F. Henrys was appointed handicapper of the second day’s events. The Racing Club Conference notified that a Stipendiary Steward bad been appointed to attend the next, meeting. Messrs J. Lyons, S. Spence, W. A. Good, and F Edwards were appointed Stewards of the Club. Mr C. D. Sole was appointed Clerk of the Scales, and Mr J. E. L. Stanford honorary judge. Mr A. David was appointed" Clerk oi the Course, Messrs” Stdh'r ' and Good timekeepers; Dr. Paget honorary , surgeon and E. Mason hon. veteim ary. ' ’ It was decided to leave the man- • agement of the number board to Mr rHpopr, of .New Plymouth, with power jt A-engage staff, if satisfactory terms can. be made. Messrs Pitt and Abraham were empowered to have the , htiiuber board ironwork painted. Ihe was also authorised to have tV necessary alterations made to tinoffice, and to have the weigh-out bel shifted to the .post near the loose , boxes and saddlin " paddock.
