■ Rev. Frank Hales, who, for the past three months, has been hlling tiio pulpit of St. Andrew’s Baptist Church, New Plymouth, was admitted into the Presbyterian Ministry at the meeting of the General Assembly on Friday last.

The Eltham Argus records the death of Mrs Barnard, wife of the local Postmaster. Mrs Barnard had been ailing for some time, her condition giving her friends considerable anxiety. She passed away yesterday morning at the Hawera Hospital. 1
