SPEECH DAY. Despite the boisterous weather, there was a large company present at tlie Parish Hall .yesterday afternoon, the occasion being the Speech Day of St. Mary’s (1 iris’ School. Brilliantly decorated by choice llowers, the stago bore a distinctness which served as a fitting contrast to the inclement weather outside. Among those present were His Lordship the Bishop of the Diocese (Dr. Avcrill), Rev. ,E. L. Harvie (Vicar of Inglewood), Messrs W. H. H. Young (Chairman of Board of Governors), A. W. Budge, H. E. Abraham, S. M. Porritt, and A. C. Bell (members of the Board), Mesdames Newton King, Evans (New Plymouth), Stout and party (Opunako), A. W. Budge, H. E. Abraham, G. W. Howard, E .Tyrer, D. Steven, Mr. and Mrs E. G. Hartley and .Miss 'Hartley, Mr and Mrs W. J. Crawshaw and -Miss Crawshaw, Mr and Mrs Middleton and Miss Middleton, Miss Murehant, lu.A.
