WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.
ANNUAL MEETING. The amuial meeting of the W hangamomona County Council took place on Wednesday last, when there were present—Crs McCutchan, O Neill, Coyne, Mounsey,. MeCluggage, Geever ami McLeod. The clerk took the chair and called lor nominations for tile position of chairman. Cr Coyne moved, and Cr O’Neill seconded, that Cr W. A. McCutchau be appointed chairman for the ensuing year, which was carried unanimously, and on taking the chair, Cr McCutchan thanked all for the confidence reposed in him. The ordinary monthly meeting was then held. WHANG A. MAIN ROAD BRIDGE. On the motion of Cr McCutchau, seconded by Cr McLeod, it was resolved t that the repair of 'this bridge be left in the hands of the Overseer. KOHI AND WHANGA ROADS. Resolved on the motion'of Cr Coyne, it was decided, that the “thirds” accrued to date be spent on-the Kohi and Whanga roads. KOHURATAHL ROAD BE I DG IC. Cr McCutchan moved, and Cr McCinggage seconded, that the Overseer be instructed to repair the bridge at the' foot of the Kohuratahi saddle, cost not to exceed £4. Resolved that the Overseer he asked to estimate the amount of earth wdik expenditure on this bridge, and supply same to Mr E. C. Robinsbn, so that he may. make an application to the Department for subsidy on damage 'by flood. From Mr E. C. Robinson as to erection of Mounaey’s bridge, and it wasresolved that the Engineer be requested to procure ■ the. ■ material on information being !rerecived that the money is available, and call for tenders for the work. t PUTIKITUNA BRIDGE. s Or Geever moved, and Cr .McCutchan seconded, that Mr E. The action of Cr McClnggago ill engaging casual labor to clear iVlakaJm,
Pobokura, and Junction roads, was confirmed. Cr Geever moved, and Cr O’Neill seconded, that the transfer of lease from Mrs Bown to Mr Muir be sanctioned by the Council. On the motion of Cr Coyne, seconded by Cr Mounsey, it was resolved, that as no reply had been received from PutikitUha Road Loan Settlers, the matter bo deferred. Resolved that the application by F. Perrean for the position of surfaceman at Pobokura, be kept before the Council. . Permission was granted the Strathmore Patriotic ComVnittee to hold dance, as desired. Resolved that the action of Cr McCluggagc and the Clerk in accepting the tender of Mr R. Davis (Inglewood) for supplying dog collars be approved. Cr Mounsey moved and Cr McCntchan seconded, that licenses for dogs bo:-sheep and cattle dogs 2s Gd, |)ther dogs' 10s. Resolved that application be invited for position of Dog Tax Collector. Particulars from the County Clerk or Overseer, Whangamomona. Cr McCutchau moved, and Cr Geevfer seconded, that Cr O’Neill’s action re culvert on Mohakau Road, •be approved. accounts. Accounts amounting to £334 Is were approved and passed for payment. NEXT MEETING. The Council fixed Monday, 18th December, for the next meeting on account of the Christmas holidays.
