THE CHEESE QUESTION. OFFERS TO THE AUTHORITIES. ■A meeting of representatives nt cheese factories was held at Hawe.tt yesterday to consider the question of offering the cheese to the Imperial Government, It was originally mended to confine the meeting to representatives of Factories that had iiot sold their whole output, but the meeting was open to all cheese factories. The representatives of the Press were excluded from the nicoting. The following resolution was communicated to the Press:—"That the 1910-1917 season's ni) shipped cheese he offered to the Imperial Government, delivered into stores in New Zealand, at !)3s 4<l per cWfc., payment to bo made monthly Oil previous month's delivery, conditional on all unshipped New Zealand cheese being commandeered by the Government on the same terms." Wethers: Second quality, sid. Ewes: First quality, 721 b and under, 4-Jd ; over 721 b and up to 851 b, Jfd. Ewes: Second quality, 4§d, Lamb- Specially prime and Canterbury quality. 121 b and under, fi'.d ; 4211) and under, 6|d ; over 421 b, 6J-d : second quality, (i',d. Beef: Prime ox, 5d ; second and heifer, l;fd ; boning in quarters, 4 ; {d ; and !.',d ; cow beef, prime, 4:jti; second, !' t d; beef, boneless, ssd. Mutton: Legs, 6gd; shoulders, s;|d ; loins, sjjd. These prices are fixed for the period of the war. and for at least thrcof months after its termination. They apply to all meat from stock slaughtered on or after October 20, Dili, and which is available for export. Storage charges are reduced by 25 per cent, as from .November 1, 1916".
