FOOTBALL. A London cablegram states that the New Zealanders beat the Public •Seliools by 16 to 5 in a game of Rugby. WITH THE GUN. The secretary of the local Gun Club is in .receipt of a communication from the Auckland Gun Club stating that a £5 sweepstake (live birds) will be held on Saturday. 23rd December, star on the first bird to bo one guinea. Nominations will be taken on the ground, and the match will be shot under the New Zealand Chin Club Association's rules.
