PARLIAMENT AND PEOPLE. MEETINGS IN SYDNEY DOMAIN. Press Association—Copyright. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Sydney, November 20. A largely-attended meeting in the Domain protested against the prolongation of the life of Parliament. The Assembly had passed a Bill prolonging its life for'twelve mouths. A meeting of representatives of southern miners in the Domain stated that the men would vote at the ballot against the resumption of work. One speaker said the miners had done with arbitration, "fhey were out to own mines and would succeed. EFFECT OF THE STRIKE. Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, November 20. The tramway service has been entirely suspended. PROPOSED ARMY RESERVE. Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, November 19. Mr Pearce proposes to create an Army Reserve, and it is proposed that its members shall consist of citizen forces who have completed their training,, returned soldiers;. residents in the Commonwealth who have seen active service hi any part of the Empire, and members of Rifle Clubs, while incapacitated soldiers will be formed into an Honorary Reserve. It is anticipated that within twelve months of the termination of the war the scheme will give Australia from 150,000 to 200,000 trained men, apart from the military forces. .
