HELP FOR BELGIAN CHILDREN.
(To This Editor Stratford Post.) yir,—l am taking tno liberty of asking you to kindly make known through the valuable columns of your Widely read paper an appeal for the Belgian children. By a telegram in yours of the 11th inst., it was made known that the Salvation Aimj throughout the Dominion would make an effort to raise at least £SOOO by the 10th of December. 1 am anxious to share in getting some of that amount. I believe our friends in Stratford and district will respond to such an appeal, made on behalf of the suffering women and children of that brave little country. It would be very nice if I could get ten friends to give £5 each, and quite a number might give £l, and many more lesser or larger amounts. One lady has already given me £5, an elderly gentleman £l, and on Saturday last two darling children on the Broadway gave me 3d each for the Belgian children. I believe these instances could be multiplied. The assurance is given that Salvation Army officers stationed In Belgium, will personally distribute food among the poor and needy there I venture to suggest that this, at least, gives a great measure of confidence that money given will be wisely and carefully spent. I shall gladly give a weekly progress report as to the result of our local appeal. Thanking you in anticipation, 1 remain, yours for God and Humanity. HENRY C. COOK, Adjutant. Fenton Street, Stratford, Nov. 17.
