In the Assembly, the Opposition stonewalled the Premier’s motion to suspend- the Standing Orders -so as to permit of the introduction of a Bill for prolonging the life of Parliament for - twelve months.. A heated debate ensuecl, and after a division, the motion for suspension was carried, and tlie Bill was introduced and taken in committee.
