The King, in a message to General Sir Douglas Haig, says: "J heartily congratulate you on tlio great success of your gallant troops for the past three days on the Ancre. This further capture of first-line trenches under the special difficulties of tlio recent wot weather redounds to the credit of all ranks." General Haig replied forwarding his grateful and respectful thanks.
