Jt is_ Si ,],j that as a result ol' representations from a local mili- ' tary o',",ieor to the Postmaster-General, received a transfer to Auckland. jf At a large gathering last night he ! was made sevond presentations, when Mr Young, M.P., declared that in- '* quiriesj into the allegations found that ■ gross injustice had been perpetuated. He would make the country ring when the scandal .and at the risk of losing j his seat in Parliament, he would seo that redress was made, Mr Combs, the permanent secretary of the P.T.Q/ Association, who made _ a special journey from Wellington to ,bo present, declared that he had been authorised by the executive to say . th.U the organisation of* 5000 at his 1 'fenck was determined to make the department retreat from the present 'position, and do justice to Scott.
