Mr E. A. Israel, who is at present travelling' in this district, has received cable advice that his two sons have i recovered,- One was wounded in the hack at the Somme, hut the casualty to thp other was not reported. Mr Israeli also had. a son-in-law, Lieut. Toplis, wounded, and a nephew succumbed to wounds, The latter was a son of the late Mr G. C. Israel, brother in law to Sir Joshua Williams, and chairman of the Otago Educat.on Board at the time of his death in January last. A group under the I heading of “The Fighting Israels has, been appearing in Australian periodicals. These are all relatives of Mr E. A. Israel.
