SERVE YOUR COUNTRY ! GIGANTIC GERMAN EFFORT. Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Amsterdam, November 14. -The Lokal Anzeiger states that the Reichstag will shortly lie summoned to pass a Bill, compelling all sane and healthy citizens to serve their country.

The London Daily Telegraph’s Rotterdam correspondent says that German politics are taking an unprecedented epurse. The Government’s action in summoning the Reichstag in the near future, means that the Government wants the Reichstag’s 00-operalloW in new measures. This is unusual, which fact alone proves that the measures must )jo of an extraordinary nature. It has been widely hinted that the Government proposes to mobilise the entire civil population for a gigantic winter effort. An inspired appeal in the Berliner Tageblatt extols the so-called general obligation upon civilians to serve, and advocates that all civilians, male and female, from 10 to Go, should be placed on a military footing. The coming winter must be used to strengthen the-military front, and to fill gaps and raise new armies, simultaneously strengthening the economic front.

The Governor-General of Warsaw has ordered the formation of a Polish Privy Council of which the district representatives aud town councils select eight. The Governor, who presides, nominates four. Polish language is to be spoken in the Privy Council and Diet.
