Graves, who was arrested on a charge of blackmailing the Countess Bcrnstorff. makes some sensational allegations. He says that Count Bernsterffi and his friends made a million placing in stocks on advance information as to the activities of the U 43, Ho asserts that the code of letters which he offered to the Embassy contain diplomatic secrets ol great importance to the Fnited States, which the German Embassy were afraid to permit him to translate. Graves, therefore, does not expect the Embassy to proceed with the charges.

Count Bornstorff, in the course of as interview, characterises the charges as rot.
