PRESS COMMENT ON THE RACE.
1 Sydney, November 11. ( The Sunday papers, commenting on Sasanoff’s victory in the- Cop. say it was the easiest that was ever jwon. Sasanoff was nicely placed at the bend, and, running wide and j clear of the rest of the field, entered the straight first, and from there the [issue was never in doubt, the Now Zealander coming along at his ease, and increasing the daylight between himself and the struggling but hopelessly beaten favorite, Shepherd King. During the week disquieting rumors were current concerning Sasanofl’s [condition, which caused him to recede from popular favor, but with a luxurious light weight he was simply too good for anything else in the race. When In? passed tho post ho looked as if another mile would not have troubled him. Many Cups have been won comfortably, but seldom has a winner succeeded with more in hand than Sasanoff had. His jockey (Foley) says it was the, first ride for Sasnnoff’s present owners, and he had a good ride. He got bumped after going a furlong, but had a clear run, otherwise he was most afraid ('I Shepherd King and Wolaroi. THE QUEENSLAND CUP.
