AUSTRALIAN REFERENDUM REJOICING IN GERMANY. DOMINIONS NOT UNDERSTOOD. Press Association—Copyright, Ansi -a ban and N.Z. Cable Association. 'Received 10.10 a.m.) Amsterdam, November 8. German newspapers are jupilaut over the result,of the Australian referendum vote. Professor Manes, in an article in the Yossische Zeitung headed “A Whole Section of the Earth against War” says that it means that the other Dominions cannot consider the introduction of compulsion. Several papers declare that the result amounts to the defeat of Germany’s most prominent opponent, tile Dominions, and that the Australian example will be followed by other Dominions.

A Berlin official communique states: German air squadrons set fire to a great ammunition depot south-west of Bray. There were big explosions. The Russians gained ground at Tolgye. Tlie Germans arc progressing south of the Vulcan Pass and south-east of Rotorturm Pass, where we captured 1000 prisoners.
