ji lt . but. Lev market continues firm. Danish, ov/ing to small supplies, is fin her at 214 s to 218 s, Irish creamery, small supplies; salted, 196 s to 200 s; uusalted, 200 s to 204 s ; Canadian, salted, 196 sto 198 s. The New Zealand spot market is bare; sailed. 200 s to 2045; good fine quality salted, 194 s to 198 s; Argentine, salted, 19Ss; uusalted, 198 sto 2|os. American creamery, salted, 186 to 190 s. The cheese market has a firmer tone since last report. Canadian, white 114 sto 116 s. colored 114 s to 116 s; English cheddar, 120 s to 1265; New Zealand, no official quotations, nominal quotations, white 113 sto Ills; United States flats, white 112 s to 113 s. The estimated Canadian and United States cheese stocks in London, Liverpool, and Bristol arc 299,(XX) boxes, against 375,000 at the same time last year.

I ‘ Our next sale at this point will be held on 17th November.
On Friday, 27th October, we field our sale at Matau. There was oul> a. small yarding but the demand was good. Yearling heifers made from £3 to £5 17s 6d, yearling steers £5, 20-months heifers £5 17s (3d to £7, bulls £7 17s (3d to £9 2s 6d. The date of our next sale at Matau has not yet been decided on.
On Monday, 30th October, wo held our supplementary bull fair. Wo offered 47 bulls and sold 32. Prices were not so good as at, previous sale, as farmers did not appear to want to purchase quality, so nothing of a very high price was sold. Jerseys, in demand, from £7 5s to £9 10s, Holsteins £7 12s 6d to £lO ss, Shorthorns £lO to £ll 10s.
On Tuesday, 31st October, wo held our usual fortnightly sale in the Stratford yards, when we had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, all of which met with good demand at advanced prices. Store cows, small, from L'i) to £'6 15s, medium £8 17s 6d fn £8 18s, fair £0 to £lO, good £lO to £lO IDs, cows and calves £8 5s to £lO, yearling steers £5 Is to £6 11s, rootling heifers £4 12s 6d to £O, heifers £6 13s to £7 2s 6d, 20-months steers £8 Bs, fat cows np to £ll 13a, ewes and lambs 28s 2d, hoggets 28s 3d. Onr next Stratford sale will bo held
on the 14th November. At the dairy yards on the same date we had a fair entry, most of which were sold at the following prices:—Small heifers. 20 months to 2-year old, from £5 17s Gd to £8 10s, medium heifers £8 15s to £lO, fair to good £lO 10s to £l3; boar, 2gns. | PRIVATE SALES. j Since wo last reported, we have disposed of a fair quantity of stock privately at the following prices:— Yearling heifers £4 to £5 os, yearling steers £5 to £6 2s, mixed yearling £5 ss, 2-year heifers £6 15s, 3-year heifers £7 7s, springing heifers £8 15s, store cows £7 to £B, forward 'cows and heifers £9 10s, hoggets 23s Gd to 34s 6d, 4 and 6-tooth owes and lambs £2 2s, mixed hoggets 30s, wethers 30s.
