LOCAL AND GENERAL.
| At the last meeting of the executive of the Patriotic Committee there I were present Messrs W. P. Kirkwood j (chairman), J. B. Richards, H. Gornhoefr, W. J. Crawshaw, i). J. I Malone, R . Dingle, J. W. Boon, J. ]W. McMillan iTion. secretary). Mr McMillan (bon. 'secretary) reported that complete arrangements had been made for a sick returned soldier to tenter the Otaki Home, but fhat no (reply could be got from tbe soldier. The matter was left in the hands of the Chairman add Secretary, ft was decided to transfer bank account into j the name of the Stratford Patriotic t Committee to be operated on by the Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary 'or any two of them. The sum of £3 I was voted to a soldier’s dependant, and a recommendation passed on to the War Relief Association that a further los per week he paid in tins case, pending a satisfactory Government pension being granted. Two other cases of assistance which had been previously granted to soldiers' dependants were reviewed, and it was decided to continue payments.
