The Morning Post's Athens correspondent states that serious complications threaten as a sequel to tiie Venezelists' occupation of Ekaterini. The garrison of 150 feebly resisted, and suffered five killed and then retired.

The Government obtained the French controlling ofTiceis'pormission to send reinforcements. The opposing forces are. now facing each other. Whether it is a prelude to civil war the corespondent cannot yet say, but the Venizelists -point out that, in consequences of the torpedoings, thev weie compelled to . transport volunteers from the railway to Ekaterini, which Venizelists must, therefore, hold.

The-'Daily Chronicle's Athens correspondent says the Royalist reinforcements numbered 400, but it is stated the Nationalists outnumbered the Royalists. The Royalists, however, were better equipped with machine-guns.

It is reported the Allies refused to allow the despatch of further Royalists.

A Royalists newspaper asserts that King Constantino is revoking his promise to the Allies to remove troops from Thessaly to Pelipponesus, owing to the Nationalists' advance.

The correspondent a l so states /that the Entente is immediately ordering wholesale arrests of spies eoi.nectcd with the submarinings. Over 203 suspects in Athens and the Piraeus have already been arrested. Admiral de Fournet has pout a message to the labor unions that he is convinced the Angelici and Kiki victims of the submarines we.e the result of the betrayal by agents ashore, that that he is arresting suspects, whether Greeks or foreigners. He will refuse to consider any Greek protests. An Athens message states that fighting has been resumed at Ekaterini between the Royalists and the Nationalists.

It is stated that negotiations are progressing whereby within 10 days no difficulty will be placed in the way of volunteers proceeding to Salonika. Seven Greek ships have been sunk in twelve days. The Venizeiists' 'army numbers at Salonika 30,000, whereof 17,000 are ready for the field.

Venizelos states that he is satisfied with the decisions of the Boulogne conference. He is indifferent to recognition of the provisional Government, since the AlHes are affording him practical support.

Admiral Fournet sent the Government a fresh severe Note, which it iw believed, refers to the arrest of German and Greek spies implicated in submarinings.

Tho Venizelist newspaper Elestia says the Allies' attitude satisfies th© Provisional Goovemment that no significance attaches to the postponement of recognition, and the National leaders have the Powers' moral and material support.
